The creative industries
are defined as those ‘activities that have their origin
in individual creativity, skill and talent and have the potential
for wealth and job creation through generation and exploitation
of intellectual property’. Sectors include: advertising;
architecture; arts and antiques trade; crafts; design; designer
fashion; video – film – photography; music –
visual – performing arts; publishing; software and computer
games; television and radio.
Advice
The Department for Culture, Media & Sport has launched
the Creative Economy Programme as a first step in achieving
the goal of making the UK the world's creative hub. The programme
will focus on seven key issues that are the drivers of productivity
in the creative industries.

Arts
& Business - the world's most successful and widespread
creative network. They help business people support the arts
and the arts inspire business people, because good business
and great art together create a richer society. Their purpose
is to enable business and its people to be more successful
by engaging with the arts and to increase resources for the
arts from business and its people.
Crafts & Visual Arts - support for artists is available
via Warwickshire County Arts Service. The Arts Service also
provides the on-line
Contact Arts database.
Artsweek, is a bi-annual celebration of the visual arts
and crafts in Warwickshire in the form of artists' open studios,
gallery events, education projects and exhibitions/workshops
in unusual venues.
