A “core company” is defined as one that is involved in
the research, development, design and production of:
- any instrument, apparatus, appliance, material or other article, including software, which is intended for the purpose of diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of disease, injury or handicap in the
hospital, care or home environment, and
- uses modern bio, electronic, mechanical or other engineering techniques to produce such products for human healthcare.
